Camp hosting

Host a blood donation camp at your workplace

Tell us your city, your building and roughly how many people could turn up. RAKT arranges a licensed blood centre to run the camp, coordinates the date and the setup, and handles registration and reporting. You provide the room and the people.

No cost to your organisation. Camps are run by licensed blood centres; RAKT coordinates.

How this works

RAKT coordinates. A licensed blood centre runs the camp.

Worth being plain about, because it is the question every organiser asks second.

In India, a blood donation camp is conducted by a licensed blood centre. Their team brings the staff, the beds, the collection bags and the cold chain, and their medical officer decides who can donate on the day. That does not change, and it should not.

What is usually missing is the coordination around it — finding a centre with capacity on your date, agreeing the setup, registering people in advance so the queue moves, and getting a report afterwards you can actually show your leadership. RAKT is blood bank software used by 200+ blood centres across India, so that is the part we do.

From enquiry to camp

Four steps, about three weeks

Three to four weeks is the honest lead time. A licensed centre schedules its mobile team in advance, and pre-registration is what stops sixty people arriving in the same ten minutes.

01

You tell us the basics

City, venue, rough headcount and when you are thinking. Two minutes on the form below, then a call from us within one working day.

02

We match a licensed blood centre

We approach centres near you with capacity on your date, confirm they can send a team, and introduce you directly. You know exactly who is coming before anything is fixed.

03

We agree the setup together

Date, time window, room, tables, power, and how many people you expect. The centre confirms what its team needs; we make sure nothing is discovered on the morning.

04

The camp runs, then you get a report

The centre collects. RAKT handles pre-registration and the on-the-day queue, and sends you a summary afterwards — who registered, who attended, how it went.

The division of labour

What you bring, and what is handled for you

You provide the venue

A clean, well-lit, ventilated room with power points. Most licensed centres ask for roughly 20 by 30 feet so registration, screening, donation and rest can each have their own corner.

You bring the people

Most centres want 50 to 80 likely donors before they will commit a mobile team. We will tell you honestly if your numbers are short, and what usually fixes it.

We help you fill it

A registration link for your intranet or WhatsApp group, reminders before the day, and posters if you want them. Pre-registration is the single biggest lever on turnout.

The centre brings the clinical team

Medical officer, phlebotomists, beds, bags and cold chain. Screening, collection and donor care are entirely theirs — they are licensed for it and we are not.

We run registration and the queue

People register before the day and check in on arrival, so the room moves in an order rather than a crowd around one table.

You get a report you can circulate

Registered, attended, and a certificate for each donor. Enough to close the loop with your leadership or your CSR reporting.

Tell us about your organisation

Nine short questions about your organisation and your venue. We do not ask anything medical — donor eligibility is decided by the blood centre’s medical team at screening, on the day.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Does it cost our organisation anything?

No. Hosting a camp is free for the organisation, and donating is free and voluntary for the donor. Blood centres cover the cost of running the camp because voluntary donation is how they maintain supply.

Who actually collects the blood?

A licensed blood centre. Their medical officer and phlebotomists run the screening, the collection and the post-donation care, and the blood goes into their licensed cold chain. RAKT is the software and coordination layer around that — we do not collect, test or store blood.

How many people do we need?

Most licensed centres want 50 to 80 likely donors before committing a mobile team, because sending staff and equipment for fifteen donors is not viable for them. If you are below that, tell us anyway — combining two floors, two societies or two nearby offices often gets there.

How much notice do you need?

Three to four weeks is comfortable. A licensed centre schedules its mobile teams in advance, and the pre-registration that drives turnout needs a couple of weeks to do its work. Shorter notice is sometimes possible; ask.

What space do we need to provide?

A clean, well-lit and ventilated room, commonly around 20 by 30 feet, with reliable power points and enough tables and chairs. It needs room for four things at once: registration, medical screening, the donation beds, and a rest-and-refreshment corner. The centre will confirm exactly what it needs for your expected numbers.

Can you tell us in advance who is eligible to donate?

No, and nobody honestly can. Eligibility is a clinical judgement made by the blood centre’s medical team at screening on the day. The broad criteria — generally aged 18 to 65, over about 45 kg, in good health, and a gap since any previous donation — are useful for telling your colleagues what to expect, but the decision is always the medical team’s.

Do you take our donors’ data?

We collect only what a camp needs to run: name, contact details, city and availability, with consent recorded separately for the camp itself and for any future reminders. Medical and screening records belong to the licensed blood centre, in their system. We do not sell donor lists.

Which cities do you cover?

RAKT software runs at 200+ blood centres across India, so coverage is best where those centres are. Send the form regardless — if we cannot arrange a centre for your city and date, we will tell you quickly rather than leave you waiting.
